What is a Paraw?

A paraw is a local sailboat with two outriggers and two sails. It is a type of bangka, which is a general term for boats in the Philippines. Paraw sailing is an ancient Filipino tradition that dates to pre-colonial times. Paraws can sail between 11 and 17 knots (20-31 km/h), depending on wind and water conditions.
